Wow. . . I'm so sorry I watched that. . .
Surprised it didn't say "A Leni Reifenstahl Production" at the end.
it’s quite affirming to see the horrific material that they’re serving up at the convention this year.
aside from blatant homophobia, the scenes at the end of the convention that are discussed on another thread stoop to new levels of fear mongering.
it seems to occur to nobody inside the organisation that this kind of material could trigger fear, deprsssion, anxiety, stress.

roll call for the benefit of newbies and lurkers.
in one sentence tell why you left the org.
not 2 sentences.
It ain't true!
Just got my softcover copy today!
i'm new to this site.
i've been out for 27 years and was trying to figure out how to get in touch with others that may also be on here from my old congregation.
it was warrensburg , ny....
Was not ever in that congregation, but recognize the name and am familiar with the Nicholson pedophilia scandal/crimes via my wife and her family.
Last I heard, Nicholson was DFd for boinking some pioneer sister but has been attending meetings faithfully like a good JW.
I agree with SCRATCHME. . . FB might be a better starting point.
it's a fear-based religion, at its core.
jws fear many things, but what or who do they fear the most?
let's find out.... 5) satan.
Interesting list, FRED. . .
Never thought about it this way before seeing your list, but it is really fascinating how "apostates" are ranked higher than Satan/demons especially since Satan/demons are the original and most powerful apostates ever (according do JWs).
Following from this, it's funny how JWs are told not even to look at/read/listen to apostate words; yet apostate words spoken by Satan himself are sprinkled throughout the bible. . . . .

.
Ah @darkspilver, got it.
I thought that was too realistic to be true!

I'm most shocked that:
1) they now report % increase/decrease (they used to report simply "% increase" with a "-" sign to indicate decrease
2) No more 0s or _s but reporting to tenths of a percent e.g., -0.3 percent decrease rather than a _
Why bother?
i was baptized 30 years ago and have been in the faith for over 35 years.. our organization isn't perfect.
but i'm sick to death of seeing stereotypes about us.
we are not mindless automatons.
Faithful JW or not, you strike me as a complete asshole.

saw this on reddit so this is a bit of a copy/paste jobie but i thought there would be people here excited about this as i am.
i've enjoyed her show on scientology and seems like in season 3 she is branching out with jw's getting the first episode.

Great news! Looking forward to this.
seen in the 03/2018 watchtower study :.
"during the 2017 service year, more than 284,000 “rightly disposed” individuals symbolized their dedication to jehovah by water baptism.".
https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/watchtower-study-march-2018/baptism-requirement-for-christians/.
No surprise if there's a bit of a spike this year in baptism/publisher numbers with all the political turmoil. The constant narrative in the news feeds right into JW's fears.
I was thinking the same thing. My BIL has cut his working hours and is now pioneering as he believes Trump will somehow bring "the end."
Not a huge fan of Trump myself, but I don't think that's gonna happen (and if it does it will have nothing to do with the bible/god/the great trib/armageddon/etc.).
